Exploring purvajanma shapa in brihat parashara hora shastra
Krishnamoorthy N
This article explores the concept of Pūrvajanma Śāpa-curses from previous births-as a metaphysical cause for childlessness, based on the 74th chapter of the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra. It outlines key yogas indicating afflictions due to Nāga, paternal, maternal, and spousal curses, and presents corresponding Śāstric remedies such as pūjā, dāna, and ancestral rites. Emphasizing the role of karma and destiny, the study affirms that Jyotiṣa serves as a spiritual guide rather than a deterministic force, offering insight into karmic patterns and pathways to dhārmic resolution.
