abstract
Both the Bhaá¹­á¹­ikāvya of Bhaá¹­á¹­i and the VālmÄ«ki Rāmāyaṇa are Mahākāvya’s or great epics mentioned by different Sanskrit Ä€laá¹…kārikas.VālmÄ«ki Rāmāyaṇa is called as Ä€dikāvya.On the other hand VālmÄ«ki Rāmāyaṇa is the source of the Bhaá¹­á¹­ikāvya. We see the story of the Ayodhyākāṇḍa and Araṇyakāṇḍa of the VālmÄ«ki Rāmāyaṇa is given in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth cantos of the Bhaá¹­á¹­ikāvya. In this paper, we shall try to describe a thematic comparison between Ayodhyākāṇḍa and the Araṇyakāṇḍa of the VālmÄ«ki Rāmāyaṇa and the Bhaá¹­á¹­ikāvya.
